Beyond Awful

Whenever I see a perfect picture, I’ll think, surely this isn’t real.

Film images are easier to believe.

Photography puts us in a place and asks us to see things we’d ordinarily miss.

The worst part of photography is having too many cameras to choose from.

Linear-based editing is one of the best things I’ve learned in a long while.

Photography standing is essentially knowing where to stand.

Whenever I see a photo, I want to learn something.

Don’t do awful things, and importantly, don’t do more again.

I’ll go out of my way to photograph something I find meaningful, and people will hardly even glance at the image and think it’s barely decent, and that’s perfectly normal and healthy for the work.
