Film

It’s pictures made with film that I want to print most — a perfect blend of being choosy and patient.

I returned to film in 2010 because it was the last chance to use Kodachrome, and from there, I began to experiment with other color and black-and-white stocks. I started small, tried medium format, and eventually ended up in large format. People with a local photography club heard that I was using 4x5 and gave me old darkroom equipment.

For framing, keep it simple.

  • Thin metal frames

  • 8-ply white mat for ink prints

  • 3 inch mat boarder, covering the image’s edge

  • UV acrylic glazing

For additional simplicity, place an 11x14 dry-lab print in a matching sized frame.
